There are many ways that you can
help us even if you can’t spare much timeor don’t want to commit too much. We currently only organize a few events a year (but could do more if we had additional help) and support school
events such as providing refreshments
at concerts, parents evenings etc.
If you are willing to help prior or during
an event we would love to hear
from you. If you have any connections with local businesses
that may be willing to assist or
sponsor us in some

Hello and welcome to the Bassaleg School Parents and Friends Association (PFA) Web page

The main aim of the P.F.A. is to organize enjoyable fund raising events/projects which benefit the children’s learning experience across all areas of the school and curriculum. By supporting the school through the P.F.A. you can be sure that all pupils in the school will feel the benefit.

Our latest Racenight raised over £1,500 which will go towards the purchase of a sound system for the school hall – all the pupils will therefore get the benefit from the funds that we raised at this highly enjoyable social event.

FUND RAISERS
We often provide refreshments at school music concerts and parents’ evenings.

Last June, a cheese and wine evening was held which was a very enjoyable evening, with an excellent buffet and plenty of wine on offer.

We have held successful Quiz and Curry nights, and Ceilidhs which have been enjoyed by parents and children alike!

Christmas time, we organise a shopping trip to the popular Christmas Markets and have venture to Bath and Worcester in recent years.

We’d love to organise more events, but need your support to do so!

HOW YOU CAN HELP US RAISE FUNDS
“EVERYCLICK” - You can help with our latest venture from the comfort of your own home. If you use the internet and/or shop on-line then you can help us raise funds by using “Everyclick” instead of your usual search engine.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS
The P.F.A. committee is comprised of a small but committed team of parents. Our officers are elected at our A.G.M. each autumn and we hold monthly meetings at the school, usually on a Wednesday evening. New members are always welcome.

 

 

 


Even if you can’t make it to meetings or don’t want to get too involved we can keep you updated with details of our activities via e-mail, simply contact us at bassalegpfa@sky.com to join our mailing list. We are always looking for new fund raising ideas, if you have any, please get in touch.

As a parent/guardian of a child at Bassaleg School you are automatically a member of the P.F.A. and as such you are welcome to attend our monthly meetings.

We would really appreciate your support as active membership is at an all time low – less than fifteen parents at the last count!
