Illnesses/Absence
Parents/Guardians must ring the School on their child's first day of
absence. Upon their return to school each child must bring a letter
explaining their absence, signed by a parent or guardian to give to
their Form Tutor.
Leaving School Early
If a child is required to leave school early due to an appointment.
They must come to the School Office (in either the Forge building or
Griffin building) to complete the Signing Out Book. Pupils will only
be allowed to leave if they have a note signed by their Form Tutor and
Head of Year. Pupils must then sign back in on their return. If the
pupil does not have a note then a parent or guardian must come in to
sign their child out.
Lateness
If a pupil comes to school late, they must go to the
School Office (in either the Forge Building or Griffin Building) to
complete the Late Book, explaining their lateness.

MEDICAL INFORMATION
We are concerned at Bassaleg School that we keep our medical records
for pupils up-to-date. Therefore it would be helpful if parents/guardians
could complete the Medical Information and Consent Form (link above
left). All completed forms are to be returned to the School Office.
1. If your son/daughter requires essential mediciation of any type during
the school day all sections of the Medical Information form
must be completed and returned.
2. Your son/daughter may not be taking mediciation currently. If this
situation changes then a new Medical Information Form will need to be
completed prior to mediciation being dispesend at school.
3. All medicines, which are essential (marked with dosage and name)
are to be handed to Mrs Jarman, School Nurse, along with a Medical Information
Form.
4. In appropriate circumstances (eg inhalers, epipens) pupils may be
allowed to carry medication in their bags: this is only after completion
of the Medical Information Form and following discussion with Mrs T
Jarman
