The
Programme of study at Bassaleg School for Careers and the World of Work
(CWW) is concerned with the relationships between young people, their
learning and the world of work .
The
Programme should help learners to:

Explore the attitudes and values required for employability and lifelong
learning.
* Plan and manage their pathway through the range of opportunities in
learning and work.
* Make effective career choices
* Become Entrepreneurial
* Flourish in a variety of work settings
* Become motivated, set long term goals and overcome barriers
* See the relevance of their studies to their life and work
* Develop Key Skills and other skills required by empoyers
* Prepare for the challenges, choices and responsibilities of work and
adult life.
Bassaleg School recognises that all students are entitled to receive up
to date Careers Advice, Information and Guidance as part of the School
Curriculum Careers and the World of Work lessons are designed to promote
the DCELLS Learning Outcomes of Careers and the World of Work; a framework
of 11-19 year olds in Wales, i.e. self effectiveness, personal employability
and financial capability
CWQA - Careers Wales Quality Award
In May 2007 the school was awarded the CWQA in recognition of the high
quality and effective practice demonstrated in the delivery of the Careers
and the World of Work Programme.
