CAD / CAM - Design, Make, Test and Race

The Design & Technology Department at
Bassaleg School operates 2 teams within the
Jaguar F1 in Schools Challenge Competition.
One team in both Key Stage 3 and 4 categories.

RECENT SUCCESS:
KS3 team wins fastest car overall!!

The competition consists of designing, making
and racing a model Formula One car using
CAD / CAM. Teams are made up of 6 pupils who
taken on team responsibilities, such as, Team
Manager, Graphic Designer, Manufacturing
Engineer etc, who all work together to ensure
the car is designed aerodynamically and
manufactured using CAD / CAM and is also
geared to race against other teams at regional
and, if successful, national and international
levels.
