The Humanities Cluster in Bassaleg School
consists of the Geography, History and
Religious Studies Department.

These subjects are 'people centered' and study how they organize themselves and use the earth's resources. Really the study of PEOPLE - past,
present and future.

You have all come across some of us at some stage
in your education as everyone studies the three subjects in Years 7 to 9. You then usually choose
one Humanities subject for GCSE - some study
two - and lots of you choose us again for A Level.

Our external exam results at GCSE and AS/A Level
are always very high and many students continue to study the Humanities at University.

At the moment Year 9 and Year 11 pupils are trying
to decide which subjects to pursue at GCSE and
AS Level. Trying to fit all the subjects you want to
study into the option boxes is always a nightmare;
but they are some of the most important decisions
you will have to make as they will have a big impact
on your future. We want to show you why choosing
a Humanities subject has many advantages and
will help broaden your knowledge and understanding
of the world in which you live. Click on the links on
the left for more information.
