Facilities

Most Mathematics lessons are taught in the Forge Building in the Mathematics block and most teachers have a base room where they teach the majority if not all of the their lessons. The department is also able to make use of the facilities provided for whole school use such as reprographic equipment and computor rooms.

Resources

Textbooks - The following titles are issued to pupils and are used in the majority of lessons:

New National Framework Mathematics (Tipler & Vickers) - Used with years 7, 8 and 9.
GCSE Mathematics Revision and Practice (Raynor) - All three books in the series are used with years 10 and 11 at Key Stage 4..
Foundation GCSE Mathematics (Speed) - Used at Key Stage 4.
Complete Advanced Level Pure Mathematics (Martin) - Used with AS/A2 groups.
Complete Advanced level Mechanics (Martin) - Used with AS/A2 groups.
Advanced level Statistics (Crawshaw) - Used with AS/A2 groups.
Advanced Mathematics Core 1 & 2 (Neill & Quadling) - Used with AS/A2 groups.
Advanced Mathematics Core 3 & 4 (Neill & Quadling) - Used with AS/A2 groups.

ICT - The department is equipped with a P.C., two lap-top computors, two laser printers and three SMART Boards and projectors which include a variety of software packages.

Other Department resources include: Calculators (FX 83 recommended), overhead projectors, compasses, protractors, rulers, trundle wheels etc.
